Background & History

Elena A. Heys received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and in Government in Politics from the University of Maryland in 2013. She then received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she continued on to receive her LL.M. in Taxation.

During Elena’s time as a J.D. and LL.M. candidate in DC, she gained experience with the tax law while working as an intern for a broad range of entities, including the IRS, accounting firms, and law firms. After obtaining her Maryland bar certification in 2016, Elena spent time as an attorney in Baltimore, Maryland working on a variety of tax, securities, corporate, and litigation issues.
